Dhamra Port's terminal infrastructure requires regular HVAC duct work and electrical maintenance — but the combination of coastal salt-air corrosion and live-electrical proximity ruled out aluminium.
Steel scaffolds would have corroded inside 12 months. Aluminium scaffolds met corrosion but failed the electrical-safety test. A single material had to do both.
